What is EWB in general? It's simple Engineers Without Borders :)

EWB in General

When I got hired as an Advocacy VP of Engineers Without Borders-Ryerson Chapter, I had no idea of what it was, and yet, I had a feeling that I would learn about it on the way. And yes I did. I did learn a lot about it. However, even after being part of it for so long, I have a long way to go through to understand it.

EWB, in general, is a not-for-profit organization that relates engineering, in general, with international development. It exists not only in Canada, but at least 30 other nations. While EWB in most countries work collaboratively as EWB-International, according to an article in Wikipedia, EWB Canada, EWB Spain, EWB Luxembourg, EWB UK, EWB Australia, EWB New Zealand and EWB Ireland work as separate organizations, but for the same mission, i.e. to assist the helpless communities through engineering solutions. While in some nations, EWB is linked with professional engineering, the majority of them are strongly linked with post-secondary and graduate students. And that's what we do in Canada as well.

Next time, I'll introduce you to EWB Canada in General...

Sit tight!!! A lot more good stuffs on the way...
